I wrote my one-act play Saját Szoba (A Room of One’s Own) in 2022. It premiered in front of an audience in 2023 at an event called Feminism in Contemporary Drama. The event combined literary and cultural discussions. After the staged reading, there was a talk with playwright Roland Rédei, sociologist Judit Acsády, and me. It was organized by the Fiatal Dráma Fóruma (Young Drama Forum) and the Fiatal Drámaírók Háza (House of Young Playwrights). The event took place at Kelet Café in Budapest.

Synopsis
It takes place on the eve of a literary discussion. Young and ambitious Judit is getting ready to meet her idol, Ágnes, the next day. Due to an unexpected accident, they are forced to spend a few hours together in Judit’s room, even though the hotel had booked them separate rooms. The initial awkwardness gradually gives way to an honest intergenerational conversation, through which a supportive bond between the two women begins to form.
The title nods to Virginia Woolf’s classic work: A Room of One’s Own. Like Woolf’s book, the play focuses on the challenges and triumphs of women finding their place in the world.
